CPA | CFP®  ·  Founder

I started in healthcare as an orthopedic physician assistant. It wasn't the right long-term fit, so I pivoted to tax. I earned a Master of Taxation from ASU, passed the CPA exam, and spent six years preparing returns and doing tax planning for individuals, partnerships, and S corporations.

The more tax work I did, the more I saw how closely it connected to everything else: investments, cash flow, retirement, insurance. I earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification and built Styra so I could handle all of it in one place.

The name is Swedish for "to guide." My great-grandparents were descendants of Swedish immigrants, and I grew up close to them. I wanted the firm to reflect that heritage.

Who we work with.

People who are within about five years of retirement, or already moving into it. You have saved steadily for decades and the balances are real. What changes as retirement gets closer is the questions: how much you can comfortably spend, when you can stop working, which accounts to draw from first, when to claim Social Security, and how to cover health insurance before Medicare.

This is an ongoing relationship. We help you put the strategy in place, and we keep refining it together every year as tax law and your life change.

Tax and planning belong in the same room.

Your tax strategy, your investments, and your financial plan are all built in the same place. A Roth conversion gets modeled against your tax situation before we move. A portfolio change accounts for what we're planning for next.

When one person handles all three, every decision is connected.

One advisor, one strategy

Your financial planner is also a CPA. One conversation covers tax, investments, and planning, and your accountant stays in the loop on anything that reaches the return.

Fee-only, always

No commissions, no product sales. You pay a clear fee for advice that's built around your goals.

After-tax decisions

Every investment move, every Roth conversion, every contribution is modeled for its tax impact first.
